Big Falls

I created this image on a hike yesterday at Big Falls, Forest Falls, CA. This is a portion of the lower falls, which meanders through the trees before disappearing into the forest. I didn’t do it on purpose, but the camera angle positioned the lower end of the log exactly at the edge of the rock, giving a false sense that the rock is supporting the log. It’s not, of course, but if you look at it from that perspective it’s quite interesting.

I love how things can go unseen in the viewfinder, only to be discovered later in developing. You never know what magic light will create!
